The understanding and interpretation of pharmaceutical and medical jargon and TLAs are frequently required in the day to day practice of a hospital pharmacist. TLA* stands for three-letter acronym, and describes a plethora of abbreviations used to save time when discussing medical conditions, writing prescriptions or in medical notes. *Note I'll be including a number of common abbreviations, not just those comprised of three letters!
